First Appointment Support
Starting therapy can feel like a big step. Your first session is an opportunity to share what brings you in, ask questions, and begin identifying what kind of support may be most helpful. Sessions are paced with care, and you do not need to have everything figured out before you begin.
Your first appointment is a starting point. It is a chance to ask questions, share what feels important, and begin building a sense of direction with your therapist.
What to Expect
The first appointment is paced with care. You can ask questions, take your time, and decide what feels comfortable to share.
Before your appointment, you may be asked for basic information needed for scheduling, consent, billing, and record keeping.
After your appointment is booked, you will receive the details needed to prepare, including location or video appointment information.
Your first session usually includes a conversation about your concerns, relevant history, goals, and any questions you may have.
You and your therapist can discuss possible next steps, whether ongoing support feels like a fit, and how you may want to continue.
Before Your Appointment
You do not need to prepare perfectly. These details are simply here to help the first step feel clearer.
Sessions are available in person, by video, or by phone depending on therapist availability, location, and what feels like the best fit for your needs.
It can help to think about what has been feeling difficult, what you hope may feel different, and any questions you would like to ask.
You can ask questions, pause, change direction, or choose not to share something before you feel ready.
For video appointments, the information needed to connect will be sent to you by email through the Jane App booking system before your session. For in-person appointments, you can choose from the available locations when booking.

You do not need to share everything right away. The first session can simply be a place to begin, ask questions, and notice what feels supportive.
You are welcome to reach out with questions before booking. If you are ready to begin, you can book a session through Jane App.
